Meet the Founder

Sophie de Lavandeyra is a student, researcher, and dancer from New York City. She founded Know My Rights AI to make immigrant legal guidance clear, multilingual, and accessible to the public. Drawing from her background in debate, civic research, and performing arts, she designed the platform as a bridge between empathy and policy—transforming complex USCIS information into human language that people can trust.

Outside of her technical work, Sophie serves as a debate captain and competitive dancer, using both to explore how communication and movement can drive advocacy. Her work blends creativity, rigor, and compassion to make civic spaces more inclusive for everyone.
